To kick off our time in South East Asia, we decided to spend a few days in the Krabi province of Thailand for some sun, sea and sand. We stayed in Ao Nang and visited a couple of beaches nearby for beautiful blue water and spectacular limestone cliffs. Unfortunately, it rained – a lot – huge monsoon-style storms almost daily… However, we still got plenty of beach time in the sun when the clouds held off! Then we headed to Bangkok.
We loved our time in Bangkok. I’ve been before but only really on a stopover, so it was great to enjoy the city properly. We visited the floating market and took a boat trip down the canal to see some of the waterside communities. We strolled through China Town to take in the weird and wonderful stalls and sights. We visited lots of the beautiful temples around town and the Bangkokian Museum for a look at what homes in the 1950s looked like in the city. We finished up our few days in the city with a visit to the weekend market and then some delicious vegetarian Thai food!
We’re visiting the North of Thailand once we’ve been to Vietnam and Laos, so more to come from the country. For now, see all our pics from the beaches and Bangkok below:
