Seattle Travel Blog

After a 46 hour train journey from Chicago, we reached Seattle (blog to follow on our experience of travelling the US by train soon!) We had just Sunday afternoon and evening in the home of Frasier, Nirvana and Starbucks so had to pack the sights in.

Our highlight was definitely Pike Market, where the traditional fish stalls are now side by side with more unusual traders. It also meant we could take the waterfront walk from the Olympic Sculpture Park to Pike, taking in the fresh air (and the rain).

When we needed a break, we headed to The Masonry in the Queen Anne district, which sells a variety of craft beers and ciders, stone-baked-to-order pizza (and shelter from the rain).

Did I mention the rain? Seattle is known for it’s precipitation and we got to see that sight too! If you’re visiting Seattle, make sure you take a raincoat.

Next stop, San Francisco!
